In New Zealand’s burnout scene, few cars capture attention quite like DSPRNG, the burnout ute owned by Garett Mathews. Based in the South Island, this vehicle has earned a reputation for its unique look and sick skids. At the heart of DSPRNG is a Chevrolet LS engine, built by Llama Engineering. After years of making waves around the country, Garett came up with an idea to take this beast to the next level.
Garett approached Llama Engineering with his vision: he wanted the already impressive blower to sit even higher. The team at Llama jumped at the challenge, creating a complete digital model of the top of the engine block using 3D scanning technology. From this model, they designed a custom high-rise intake manifold. Choosing to work with billet aluminum, they began the manufacturing process. After several days of machining and fabrication, the manifold started to take shape. Once completed, the top of the blower now sits impressively above the roof line of the Ute.
The modification will not only enhance the ute’s aggressive look but also attracts significant attention at car shows and burnout competitions. Fans and enthusiasts will now be drawn to DSPRNG for more than just its performance; the towering blower manifold has transformed the ute into an impressive piece of engineering art.
