Brandon reached out to Llama looking for an engine upgrade for his 1979 Land Cruiser. He had been inspired by Toyota USA’s SEMA build which was a NASCAR-powered 45 Series rock crawler named BRUISER.
The chassis has been replaced with a fully coil-sprung 80 series, wider, stronger and better matched for offroad activities.
With a tight timeframe to get the car ready as a promo for Fieldays, Darren set to work blueprinting and building the engine. The target was a moderate 800HP and built tough enough to support a Harrop TVS2650 supercharger. We went with an 6.0-litre L98 (LS2) with ARP studs, forged pistons and rods, and a custom cam. Computer wise she’s being controlled by a Haltech ECU, resulting in lightweight and highly tunable power.
