A customer came to us recently with a beautiful example of a Jensen Interceptor, she was running rough though and overheating all the time.<\/span><\/p>

The British media dubbed the Mark III Jensen \u201cThe Gentlemen\u2019s Express\u201d, it was one of the most successful of the Interceptors. The 6.3L engine of previous generations was upgraded for a low compression 7.2L version, also from Chrysler, and was the most powerful engine Jensen had specified up to that point.<\/span><\/p>

In order to increase the reliability a conversion to fuel injection was requested and our lead engineer Frank set about designing a solution that looked period correct, but delivered fuel in a manner far superior to the previous carbureted setup. We re-used the existing Edelbrock carburetor manifold, allowing for the throttle actuator and butterfly setup to bolt on. High energy smart coils were also installed. <\/span><\/p>

The factory air cleaner was also to be re-attached to hide everything, with a requirement that only a minimal gain in height be introduced with the new system. The factory bolt hole pattern on the top of the injector system facilitated this easy installation, with the final solution being only 10cm higher than factory.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

Frank then 3D scanned the engine so that he could start designing the crank trigger system and positioning for the hall-effect sensor. <\/span><\/p>

A shiny new Emtron Shadow 8 ECU was installed to manage the ignition and fuel delivery, the computer includes 16MB permanent memory for on-board logging, Drive by Wire control, USB C Communications and support for knock sensors. <\/span><\/p>

Finally to allow her to breathe a bit better a custom new twin 2.5\u201d exhaust system with cross-over, giving a stunning melodic sound.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>
